With a little rudimentary research, Zeke is able to find documentation of a plane crash near the Taos, NM rift in early 2022. Exactly like the recent incident at Enodia, the plane and its contents mysteriously vanished after about 36 hours, and the incident was ultimately chalked up to Rift activity and considered resolved. Unlike the incident at Enodia, the plane crashed in a single piece, and both passengers were recovered in critical condition: a man who matches the description of the man recovered from the Enodia crash, and a woman also of Dutch nationality. Additionally, the Taos station recovered a metal case which emitted large amounts of regular Rift radiation. They did not receive clearance to open the case before the plane, its passengers, and the case disappeared again.
Immediately preceding the event, the Taos rift gave off unusual readings which are dissimilar to the unique readings the Enodia rift emits when flaring up. However, without the interference of Enodia’s unique rift radiation, the anomalous Taos readings are able to be translated into audio waves, albeit extremely distorted ones. Once Enoch isolates the signal, Shannon is able to speed it up to reveal a transmission in Dutch. The voice is male. Raine is able to translate it:

It’s just light, and I’m flying blind. Terminus Station, do you copy? God save our souls, they can’t hear us. We’ll not get out of here. I think we have to turn it on. Can you hit the switch, Anouk?”It repeats 3 times, which takes 36 hours, and then cuts off.
Valentine’s Day. Ernestine Waters texts Crysta to tell her that she heard from her friend Radcliff Vigouroux (who she does Model UN with) that he heard from his girlfriend Katrina Moretti (whose parents own the local upscale Italian restaurant) that FBI Agent Lundy has a reservation for two tonight.
Mid-morning, a prop plane glances off Enodia’s dome and crashes into the nearby Riftlands. Its trajectory is identical to the first crash on January 12th. Having reviewed the footage and data from the initial crash, Exploration and Security are promptly able to locate both the fuselage (with the unconscious pilot) and the tail of the plane. By the time Agents Leonello and Lundy show up at the Station, Explorers have also located the missing passenger, likewise unconscious and hanging from her parachute in the Riftlands.
Alongside Agent Leonello, Explorers locate the metal case mentioned in the Taos report. Leonello and Thornton have a public argument about whether or not the case, which Leonello refers to as a “device”, will be removed from Enodia Station. After Thornton involves IRIS Director Michaela Glass, Leonello ultimately has to run the request up to her own superiors, a process which could take until Monday or later.
In the middle of the night, as expected, the anomalous plane crash reverses itself and both passengers, the wreckage, and the device vanish. After Enodia staff and their visitors come to, Leonello throws a fit and trashes Thornton’s office with her telekinetic powers.
Leonello and Lundy’s stay at the Water Lily is up tomorrow, and they decide to relocate to Enodia Station so they can be on site if the crash reoccurs. They will be around the Station until further notice. Dr. Magdy gives the conference room in the Research building to use as their personal office as an olive branch of sorts.

Research collects rift readings today which suggest the crash event will reoccur a third time on 2/29.
The crash reoccurs mid-morning. Both passengers and the device are all promptly recovered. While examining the device in the Research building, Agent Leonello inadvertently activates it.
